Vinicius Jr Issues Regret to Real Madrid Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

Vinicius Jr has scored five strikes in 10 La Liga matches so far this term.

The Madrid giants attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his response when taken off in Sunday's heated Clasico clash victory.

Vinicius was replaced in the 72nd minute and displayed his annoyance by walking immediately off the pitch.

He eventually reappeared to the bench and, following his side's 2-1 win, tried to confront Barça's Lamine Yamal during unsavoury post-match incidents.

"Now I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my response when I was replaced in the derby," Vinicius wrote on X.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during today's training, I also want to express regret anew to my team-mates, the organization, and the president.

"At times fervor takes over me because I always want to triumph and support my team. My competitive character comes from the love I hold for this institution and everything it symbolizes."

The player joined Real from Flamengo in the year 2018 for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his career in the La Liga is unclear with reports in recent months suggesting that Real would contemplate permitting the player move on if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When he was taken off on the match day, cameras from coverage provider Dazn recorded him stating: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's preferable if I go, I'm going."

In his most recent post on X, the athlete said: "I commit to keep battling at all times for the good of the club, as I have done since the first day."
